Saturdays are for wandering… and organizing!
Little by little I’ve been organizing every room in my house. Well, at least trying to. Living in a cluttered environment really affects my mood and productivity. So while I tackled each space I found little organizing systems and simple tricks that really helped me. Here I’m going to share with you the 3 objects I can’t organize without!
Trays
For starters, I always have to get a tray. They are awesome! They catch all the little trinkets we have laying around and join them all together, making everything look neatly organized.
I have one in the kitchen where I put the things I absolutely need every time I cook. This way I don’t need to go to my drawers to get a wooden spoon, or run to a cabinet to get the olive oil. It’s all there in my little cooking station. (Just in case you are wondering, the plant is only for decorative purposes, but having a little pot with herbs would be a cool idea too). And it keeps the countertop very clean.
In my room I got one for perfumes, earrings, sunglasses, all that stuff that otherwise would be hanging around everywhere. But i really need to get a vase for flowers, to bring some life in here!
Last, but certainly not least. You NEED a catch-all tray for your entryway, it can be a little one or a bigger one, just get a tray that works for you and your household. This will be great for keeping all the important stuff such as keys, cards and wallets together, preventing you from loosing. This one is from H&M and has been a lifesaver since I did my new entryway.
Baskets
Baskets are great to keep ordinary items that you don’t like do display, organized and out of sight.
This last one is my new favorite edition to the office (which is now in renovation/organization mode) and it is also from H&M. I think I’ll keep here the images I’ve been cutting from interior magazines (I know, it looks something out of the kindergarten, but I need to keep a “journal” with images and comments for the interior design course that I’m taking). This way I wont have papers all over the place.
Boxes
Preferably with lids. In my room I’ve been using them for hiding bags, and stuff I only need for vacations. In the office I have them to keep supplies, envelopes, postal cards and other office needs. If you label them its even better, but I like to keep the labeled ones inside closets and cabinets. I think it looks neater.
If you need more tips and tricks on keeping organized, I did a post on 3 Foolproof tips on organizing small spaces. And if you need more help on the organizing category, I would be glad to try to help you. So you’re welcome to put your questions on the comment section below.
Wish you all the best weekend and see you tomorrow!
